Mixing Instructions for 2:1 Fast Set Epoxy Sealer
Tip: If your resin is cold you can warm Part A only in a tub of warm (not hot) water for 5-10 minutes. This will make it easier to mix and release bubbles. Do not warm Part B as it will dramatically shorten pot-life.
Equipment: scales, plastic cups for mixing, stir sticks, plastic spreader, torch, gloves, safety glasses, respirator.
Steps for mixing Fast Set Epoxy Sealer:
- Mix ratio is 2:1 by weight - exactly weigh Part A and Part B
- Pour Part B into your mixing container first, then add Part A. Slowly mix Part A and Part B together for 3 to 4 minutes until the resin becomes clear from cloudy - it's a good idea to set a timer.
- Ensure you scrape the sides and bottom to mix thoroughly. Mixing too fast will introduce more bubbles, so mix at a steady speed.
- Transfer the resin into a second container and stir for 1 more minute
- Do not leave the mixed resin in the cup for longer than 5 minutes as it will generate heat and could start to set in the container (smaller volumes ie 100 ml or less may last longer).
- We recommend diluting Fast Set Sealer 15%-20% with isopropyl alcohol or meths for the first or second seal coat (if necessary)
- Apply to your project and spread evenly
- Quickly torch, if necessary, do not over torch and do not torch after 5 minutes. NOTE: DO NOT torch if you have added isopropyl or meths as they are flammable.
- Protect your work from dust
- In about 4-6 hours your project should be hard to the touch, after 24 hours it will be fully cured.
