Mixing Instructions for 3:1 Art Epoxy Resin
Tip: If your resin is cold you can warm up Part A and Part B in a tub of warm (not hot) water for 5-10 minutes. This will make it easier to mix and release bubbles.
Equipment: scales, plastic cups for mixing, stir sticks, gloves, safety glasses, respirator (optional)
Steps for mixing art epoxy resin:
- Mix ratio is 3:1 by weight - exactly weigh Part A and Part B
- Pour Part B into your mixing container first, then add Part A. Slowly mix Part A and Part B together for 4 to 5 minutes until the resin becomes clear from cloudy - it's a good idea to set a timer.
- Ensure you scrape the sides and bottom to mix thoroughly. Mixing too fast will introduce more bubbles, so mix at a steady speed.
- Add colour as required, or separate your mixture into smaller mixing cups and add colours
- Let the mixed resin stand for a few minutes to help release the air bubbles. Do not leave the mixed resin in the cup for longer than 30 minutes as it will generate heat and could start to set in the cup (smaller volumes ie 100 ml or less may last longer).
- Apply to your project
- Quickly torch, if necessary, do not over torch and do not torch after 10 minutes
- Cover your artwork to protect it from dust
- Leave 24 hours to cure
Serenity Hill Designz Art Resin is a lower viscosity resin specifically designed to blend with mica powders and other colours. It can also be used for clear coating artwork.
