Mixing Instructions for 2:1 Table Top Epoxy Resin

Tip:  If your resin is cold you can warm up Part A and Part B in a tub of warm (not hot) water for 5-10 minutes.  This will make it easier to mix and release bubbles.

Equipment:  scales, plastic cups for mixing, stir sticks, plastic spreader, torch, gloves, safety glasses, respirator (optional)

Steps for mixing Table Top Epoxy Resin:

  1. Mix ratio is 2:1 by weight - exactly weigh Part A and Part B
  2. Pour Part B into your mixing container first, then add Part A.  Slowly mix Part A and Part B together for 4 to 5 minutes until the resin becomes clear from cloudy - it's a good idea to set a timer.
  3. Ensure you scrape the sides and bottom to mix thoroughly.  Mixing too fast will introduce more bubbles, so mix at a steady speed.
  4. Let the mixed resin stand for a few minutes to help release the air bubbles.  Do not leave the mixed resin in the cup for longer than 10 minutes as it will generate heat and could start to set in the container (smaller volumes ie 100 ml or less may last longer).
  5. Apply to your project
  6. Quickly torch, if necessary, do not over torch and do not torch after 10 minutes
  7. Cover your project to protect it from dust
  8. In about 24 hours your project should be hard to the touch, after 72 hours it will be fully cured.

Note:  It is not recommended to add mica powder to the table top resin as it may cause extra bubbles.  Our 3:1 art resin is designed specifically for mica powders.
